What results should I expect to see with LKM's fertilizer program?

A healthy looking lawn is the result you should expect from LKM’s fertilizer program.  Healthy lawns have good turf density, little to no weeds, and a nice deep green color.  The fertilizer program we have created does an excellent job of providing proper nutrients to keep turf healthy.  Proper nutrients along with proper mowing, watering, and aeration help keep the turf looking its best.

Do you offer delivery of bulk materials?

Why should I use your fertilizer service instead of someone else's?

Our program works!  The proof is in our customers’ yards.  Deeper green turf color, less weeds, and healthier turf are few of the differences we see in our customers’ yards over our competitor’s customers’ yards.  Our fertilizer program uses quality slow release granular fertilizers along with a couple applications of liquid fertilizers that are paired with broadleaf weed control.  The broadleaf weed control applications are the only applications that we perform that have liquid fertilizer.  Some competitor companies only apply liquid fertilizer, which releases all of the fertilizer into the ground at one time.  While a liquid application does give the turf a quick boost in growth and color, it does not provide a long term consistent amount of the nutrients the turf needs.   Slow release granular fertilizers give the turf an even well balanced amount of fertilizer over a longer time period, which helps the turf maintain a consistent color and keeps it healthier.

I need my yard mowed once, do you do that?

Currently we only offer seasonally contracted mowing.  We do not perform one time mowings.  If you are interested in having the yard mowed for the entire season then please contact us about pricing.

How many steps of fertilizer do you perform and how often are they performed?

Our typical fertilizer program has 6 applications.  Applications start in the early spring, are spaced about a month apart, and end in the fall.  We properly time our applications to help keep a consistent nutrient base for the turf so that it is healthy throughout the growing season.

Do you sell sod by the roll?

We can install sod for you, but we do not sell sod by the roll.

How much it will be for LKM to to mow my yard?

The pricing is based on the amount of turf square footage at your property.  Our minimum for a smaller yard is $52.00 and can increase from there pending the total amount of turf square footage.  If you want to find out more please contact us.

What can you do about crabgrass in my turf grass?

Our first application is in the early spring and it is a pre-emergent crabgrass control with a balanced granular fertilizer.  A pre-emergent is vital to controlling crabgrass as the crabgrass reproduces by seeds in the ground.  Preventing those seeds from germinating helps keep crabgrass in check.  Keep in mind that due to the large of amount of seeds produced it can take a couple seasons of pre-emergent control before the crabgrass is completely taken care of.  Typically crabgrass is controlled well in the first year and the second season catches the remaining crabgrass plants.  If you would like more information about crabgrass you can go to http://www.northeastipm.org/bmps-for-school-ipm/pests/crabgrass/

Can you install Christmas lights for me?

We offer a custom product that you would initially purchase from us and then we would install them, take them down, and store them for you each year.

Most homes shown on our website started around $3,000 or more for the first year and then have about a quarter to a third of that cost each year to install, take down, and store the lights.  The first year has the most upfront cost because you would be purchasing the lights that year.

When do you install the lights?

We install current customers before Thanksgiving, then turn the lights on the Monday after Thanksgiving, and then we take the lights down the second or third week of January.

I purchased my lights last season, how long are the lights under warranty?

The lights are under warranty for the entire first season and also for installation of the second season. If anything goes out in the first season it will be replaced at no charge.

I purchased my lights a few years ago, about how long before I would have to consider replacing them?

On average we estimate the lights to last around 5 years depending upon the weather conditions they were in, and how long they were on during those years.Typically in 5 years people are looking to update to a different design as well.

Can I store the lights myself?

We have a warehouse dedicated to storing all the holiday lighting.  It is climate controlled and all products are labeled specific to each individual.  We store the lights so that we can make sure the product is accessible when it is time to install the lights and also to make sure product does not get lost.  We do not store products at any of our customers' locations.

There has been bad weather lately and my lights are not working, what happens now?

First you can call us about the outage. If the weather has caused the lights to stop working then a service call would occur, if it is found that the lights are not working due to a timer issue, or installation issues then no service fee occurs.
